Job Title: Director of Sales
Location: Hilton Garden Inn Baton Rouge, LA
Reports To: General Manager
Position Summary:
We are looking for a results-driven, hands-on Director of Sales to lead all sales efforts at our property. This role is critical in driving top-line revenue through proactive sales strategies, strong brand knowledge, and exceptional relationship-building. The Director of Sales will manage all aspects of the sales process, including business development, client relationship management, revenue forecasting, and collaboration with brand and corporate teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the hotel’s annual sales plan to meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Actively prospect, qualify, and close new group, corporate, government, and transient business.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities for growth and repeat business.
- Conduct site visits, attend trade shows, and represent the hotel at networking events.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on sales performance, pipeline, and booking pace.
- Collaborate with the Revenue and Marketing teams to align pricing, promotions, and digital campaigns.
- Monitor market trends and competitive set performance; adjust strategy as needed.
- Utilize brand-specific sales tools (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Choice, Hyatt) to enhance performance and stay in compliance with brand standards.
- Lead and develop any on-property sales coordinators or managers, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in the hotel's CRM system (e.g., Delphi, CI/TY, or brand-specific platforms).
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hotel sales experience, preferably with branded properties (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Choice, Hyatt).
- Strong knowledge of corporate, group, and transient segments.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in sales software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings or weekends for events or client needs.
