About Stu’s Home Improvement Outlet
Stu’s is one of the fastest-growing retail operations in the tri-state area, specializing in scratch-and-dent appliances, home improvement products, furniture, flooring, and more. With rapid expansion underway and multiple stores planned, we are seeking a Director of Sales who can build, lead, and scale a high-performing sales organization.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring daily presence in the stores to train staff, drive revenue, improve customer experience, and build a scalable sales structure.
Position Summary
The Director of Sales is responsible for driving revenue, training and developing sales teams, creating repeat customers, and building a scalable sales system across current and future store locations. This leader will set sales standards, implement KPIs, coach staff, and ensure each store consistently meets daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
This role requires strong leadership, retail experience, a proven track record in sales performance, and the ability to execute quickly in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Lead, manage, and develop the entire sales team across all stores
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals
- Create and enforce sales scripts, closing strategies, and objection-handling
- Build a strong “customer-first” culture
- Conduct daily floor coaching and support real-time sales scenarios
Team Training & Development
- Train new and existing sales associates on:
- Product knowledge
- Customer engagement
- Pricing and value presentation
- Upselling and add-on strategies

- Hold weekly sales training meetings
- Implement performance-based accountability and coaching plans
Performance Management
- Oversee all sales KPIs
- Track staff performance, leaderboards, and daily conversion
- Work with Marketing to drive consistent traffic
- Report daily/weekly sales numbers to the CEO
Customer Experience
- Ensure all customers receive a high-quality, consistent buying experience
- Resolve escalated customer issues with professionalism
- Maintain clean, organized sales floors and displays
Operational Sales Support
- Coordinate with warehouse teams for inventory readiness
- Work with pricing teams to ensure items are priced and displayed within 24 hours
- Partner with Marketing for promotions, events, and campaigns
- Assist in hiring and interviewing sales team members
Expansion Leadership
- Build a scalable sales structure for multi-store operations
- Prepare sales teams for new store openings
- Establish best practices and SOPs for all future locations
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of sales leadership experience (retail preferred)
- Proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales goals
- Strong coaching, leadership, and people-development skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment
- Excellent communication and customer interaction
- Ability to enforce accountability and performance standards
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- On-site availability Monday–Saturday as needed
Preferred Experience
- Home improvement, appliance, furniture, or discount retail background
- Experience opening or scaling multiple stores
- Experience building sales processes, scripts, and KPIs
- Strong understanding of sales psychology

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
