Director of Security

Overview
Our young and rapidly growing company in the Youngstown, Ohio area is seeking a Director of Security to oversee and manage all aspects of our organization's security operations. Prior experience working for a federal agency is preferred. The Director of Security will be responsible for implementing and maintaining security protocols to protect our people and assets. The ideal candidate will have experience in physical and digital security and crisis management. Demonstrable experience working with fiber optic Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems (FO-PIDS) is particularly useful as helping to select, and subsequently integrate, such a system will occur shortly after starting in this position. Key responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, developing security policies, managing security staff, and overseeing security technology systems. The Director of Security will also be expected to lead training programs, conduct regular security audits, and stay updated on best practices. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors. The Director of Security will report directly to senior management and play a critical role in shaping the organization's security culture and strategy. Responsibilities

  • Implement comprehensive security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments.
  • Manage and lead the growing security team, including hiring and training staff.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of security systems and technology.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency response agencies.
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents and breaches.
  • Lead security awareness and training programs for employees.
  • Develop and manage the security budget.
  • Stay updated on best practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a security role in a security-focused industry. Experience working for a federal agency preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of physical and digital security systems. Demonstrable experience working with fiber optic Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems (FO-PIDS) is particularly useful as helping to select, and subsequently integrate, such a system will occur shortly after starting in this position.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in criminal justice, security management, or related field. Applicants without a post-secondary degree but desirable work experience will be seriously considered.
  • Knowledge of emergency response.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of security audits and risk assessments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
