TITLE: Director of Senior Living (DSL)
SUPERVISOR: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Job Type: Exempt, Full Time
Compensation: $160,000 – $175,000 annually DOE
SUMMARY: The (DSL) works in close cooperation with the COO to oversee and direct the operation and management of Rogerson Communities’ Senior Living and Senior Care including various service levels and health programs. The (DSL) is primarily responsible for the direct supervision of the Executive Directors & Program Administrators of each community and for ensuring their compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, with Rogerson’s policies and procedures, and with their respective budgets and operating plans. The (DSL) will play a key transition role in recruiting, orienting, training, and evaluating senior level staff at communities that are new to Rogerson’s management. The (DSL) will report regularly to the COO on the status of each program or community and its progress toward established goals.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree in Health Administration, Public Administration, Business, or related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in managing multi-site senior living operations (Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Adult Day Health and/or Rest Home).
- Strong background in standardizing operations and scaling service delivery across multiple communities and service levels.
- Demonstrated project management and change management expertise.
- Experience implementing enterprise systems (Yardi preferred).
- Proficient in financial management and interpreting operational KPIs to drive performance.
- Familiarity with applicable federal and state regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Adept at working with diverse populations and fostering inclusive environments.
- Sound judgment, resilience under pressure, and a hands-on, collaborative leadership style.
- Proven track record of leading teams, prioritizing and achieving goals.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- This is a full-time position which requires on-site presence.
- Located within a commutable distance to Rogerson’s corporate office as well as to our properties (located in Eastern and Central Massachusetts).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operational Strategy & Standardization
- Serve as the lead architect in designing the future state of Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, CCRC, Adult Day Health, and Rest Home operations.
- Analyze, document, and standardize key workflows, policies, and systems across communities to ensure scalable, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Collaborate with the Board Chair and senior leadership to align operations with Rogerson’s mission, strategic plan, and vision.
- Technology Integration
- Lead teams in the optimization and expansion of critical software applications including Yardi platform, ensuring consistent use across the organization to drive operational transparency and performance.
- Identify and implement technology solutions that enhance workflow efficiency and improve resident experience.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise and support Executive Directors, Senior Living Regional Team, and department leaders across communities.
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and evaluate on-site leaders; provide mentorship and performance management.
- Promote a collaborative, high-performing culture that is mission-driven and results-oriented.
- Financial & Regulatory Oversight
- Partner with the Fianance/Accounting team to lead the development and execution of annual budgets and financial planning.
- Monitor monthly income statements and ensure timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and prepare communities for successful site license inspections.
- Resident-Centered Service Delivery
- Ensure communities deliver the highest standards of service and care to residents.
- Lead initiatives to enhance resident satisfaction, engagement, and quality of life.
- Oversee marketing, occupancy, and leasing strategies to maintain a strong census and positive community presence.
- Project Management & Strategic Execution
- Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives and operational projects in partnership with senior leadership and external consultants.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across departments to achieve project milestones, with a strong focus on communication and accountability.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent Rogerson in meetings with boards, owners, sponsors, and community partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders.
