Job Purpose
The Service Director is a senior
P&L Owner
responsible for the strategic direction and operational profitability of the Service Division. This is an executive-level role focused on the business of service. The incumbent will manage large-scale workshop facilities, drive commercial growth through high-value service contracts, and ensure the highest standards of manufacturer compliance (
MTU/Rolls-Royce
) and customer loyalty.
Core Executive Responsibilities

P&L Stewardship:
Full accountability for the Service Department’s bottom line. Drive revenue through labor sales and aftermarket solutions while maintaining strict margin protection.

Operational Excellence:
Orchestrate the high-level planning of facilities, bays, and capital equipment to ensure maximum throughput and asset utilization.

Market Expansion:
Monitor energy and construction market trends to identify new revenue streams, benchmarking the service portfolio against global competitors.

Process Governance:
Implement and monitor rigorous processes and manufacturer standards (MTU/Power Systems) to ensure "best-in-class" operational flow.

Leadership & Talent Engineering:
Build a high-performance culture by coaching a multi-tiered management team, ensuring technical training costs translate into measurable productivity.

Customer Loyalty Strategy:
Act as the final escalation point for key accounts; utilize NPS data and market intelligence to refine the service delivery model.
Key Performance Indicators (The Scorecard)

Financial:
Gross Profit (Labor/Sublet), Cost Control, and Outstanding Payment Recovery.

Efficiency:
Labor Recovery Rate, Productivity vs. Utilization, and Idle Hour Ratios.

Workflow:
Open-to-Closed WIP (Work in Progress) Ratio and Engine Throughput.

Growth:
Net Promoter Score (NPS) and Total Labor Hours Sold.
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Industry Pedigree:
Minimum
15 years of experience
in senior managerial roles within
Power Generation, Energy, or Heavy Construction
.

Engine Knowledge:
Extensive experience managing service operations for
MTU, Rolls-Royce Power Systems
, or similar high-speed engine brands.

Management Profile:
A "Hardcore Manager"—expert in business administration, service sales, and organizational behavior. (Note: This is a business leadership role, not a hands-on technical role).

P&L Mastery:
Proven track record of delivering high-yield service revenues and managing complex operational budgets.
Education & Language

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related Business/Management field.

Fluent (Required). Arabic is an advantage.
