Director of Shepherd's Fold Preschool

Job Summary

Plan, organize, and direct the administration of Shepherd’s Fold Preschool.

The Director is responsible for all activities related to the Preschool.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and provide direction and support for all the teachers and volunteers.
  • Provide day-to-day management of the Preschool.
  • Provide daily curriculum and planned activities.
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness of the preschool rooms. Notify appropriate personnel of repair/maintenance needs.
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date file on each child enrolled, including emergency information for the Director and the office staff.
  • Communicate Preschool schedule and information to the staff, parents, and congregation.
  • Organize bus routes, drivers, and riders for off campus activities. Providing the office staff with a list of who will be driving what bus and the name and contact information for each child riding. (In case of an emergency, office staff will need this information.)
  • Provide age-appropriate materials and supplies.
  • Bill and receive monthly tuition. Contact families for non-payment.
  • Prepare annual budget.
  • Monitor monthly income and expenditures.
  • Turn in expense receipts to the Treasurer no later than one week after expense.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
  • Perform all job duties in accordance with the church’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Contact the Senior Pastor if you are unable to be at work.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Director supervises Preschool staff and volunteers and ensures that all Preschool staff and volunteers have approved background checks prior to working at Bixby First Methodist Church. The Finance Secretary will order background checks which will be updated every two years for current employees and volunteers.

Requirements

  • A degree in early childhood development or several years of experience working with children is preferred.
  • Must be able to work well with other preschool teachers.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must watch the Awareness Training Video (1hr) and complete the quiz at the end.

Accountability

The Senior Pastor is the supervisor for the Director. The Director is also accountable to the Staff Parish Relations Committee.

Confidentiality

The Director of Shepherd’s Fold Preschool is privy to confidential information and shall treat such information in a responsible manner. No breach of confidentiality will be tolerated.

Working Conditions
The Director of Shepherd’s Fold Preschool shall participate fully as a member of the support staff as described by the Employee Handbook.

90-Day Probationary Period

There is a 90-day probationary period followed by a review with the Staff Parish Relations Committee.

Pay: $20,000.00 per year
