Job Purpose
The Director of Showroom Design is responsible for leading the interior design and visual presentation of Furnitureland South’s showroom environment. This role provides creative direction, project leadership, and execution management for all showroom design initiatives, ensuring spaces are visually compelling, brand aligned, and effectively support the sales experience.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management for Designers, Visual Merchandisers, and ancillary product Buyers.

Provide creative input and deliverables for design direction for galleries, layouts, themes, color palettes, and visual narratives.

Ensure the visual and aesthetic experience of the showroom aligns with brand standards and approved design guidelines

Collaborate on guide design proposals, gallery layouts, accessory selections, and visual presentations.

Manage the end-to-end design process for showroom updates, seasonal resets, special presentations, and large-scale projects.

Collaborates closely with the Buying Team and other departments to understand product direction, coordinate installation needs, and ensure showroom designs align with broader company initiatives.

Ensure all gallery designs meet brand guidelines, customer experience objectives, and visual merchandising best practices.

Contribute to long-term merchandising and showroom strategies in alignment with company brand positioning and profitability goals.

Works cross-functionally with multiple teams across the organization to support the smooth execution of showroom projects, maintain timelines, and uphold overall design and brand standards.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandising, Retail, Interior Design or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in interior design, visual merchandising, showroom design, buying, or related creative leadership roles.

Demonstrated experience executing high volume showroom or retail design projects.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within tight timelines.

Minimum 3 or more years of leadership experience.
Preferred Education and Experience

10 to 15 years of experience in interior design, visual merchandising, showroom design, buying, or related creative leadership roles.

3 or more years of experience leading a furniture showroom design team.
