Summary
United Wheels is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of SIOP to lead the end-to-end Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process. This role owns the strategy, execution, and evolution of our SIOP process—including demand, supply, and inventory planning. You'll work across functions to ensure alignment with business objectives, financial forecasts, and operational goals.

As a young and growing discipline within our company, the SIOP process requires a leader who brings strong change management, systems thinking, and a continuous improvement mindset. You'll play a key role in developing talent, strengthening cross-functional collaboration, and building tools and processes that drive long-term value. This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to the executive team and board.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Own the SIOP strategy, roadmap, and execution across demand, supply, and inventory planning
  • Drive the monthly SIOP cycle, ensuring timely meetings, clear documentation, action tracking, and executive alignment
  • Facilitate the Business Integration Plan and lead monthly Executive SIOP Reviews
  • Develop and implement tools, dashboards, and KPIs that bring visibility and accountability across teams
  • Champion data-driven decision making to improve service levels, lead times, and working capital
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, including coaching demand planners and enabling best practices across the organization
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Sourcing, and Manufacturing to ensure transparency and integration across the value chain
  • Lead system and process improvements related to constrained supply planning and product lifecycle management
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing to establish standard purchase order and supplier management practices
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging industry benchmarks and internal metrics to refine and mature the SIOP process
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Management – Directly supervises demand planning and supply planning.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring and professional development to planning and operations team members.
  • Conducts performance reviews, sets individual/team objectives and manages career progression.
  • Recruits, hires and trains team members to build organizational capability in SIOP practices.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain planning, including direct ownership of global SIOP processes
  • Deep understanding of demand planning, inventory management, and supply planning in complex environments
  • Experience with ERP systems (JDE preferred), demand planning tools, and data analysis platforms
  • Proven track record of influencing at the executive level and leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of go-to-market strategies across multiple channels
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree
  • APICS or other supply chain certification
  • Experience in manufacturing, consumer products, or a high-SKU environment
  • Business Intelligence tool experience (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

Computer Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data modeling)
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
  • ERP experience required; Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne strongly preferred
  • Experience with demand and supply planning systems; knowledge of constrained planning tools is a plus
  • Familiar with Business Intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and system integrations
Certifications
  • APICS (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD) preferred
  • PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development in supply chain and operations best practices
