About the Role

M State is seeking a strategic and student-focused leader to serve as Director of Student Financial Services. This position provides leadership, direction, and oversight of financial aid and student financial services programs, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and a strong, student-centered experience. This position can be located in either Moorhead, Fergus Falls, or Wadena.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and administer all financial aid and student financial services programs
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations
• Oversee financial aid operations including awarding, disbursement, verification, and reporting
• Manage budgets, fiscal controls, and financial aid funding processes
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate financial aid staff
• Collaborate across departments to support enrollment, retention, and student success
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and continuous improvement strategies
• Lead financial communication efforts to provide clear, accessible information to students and families
• Advance equity, access, and affordability through financial aid strategies
• Use data and analytics to evaluate program effectiveness and improve outcomes

Pay: $71,222.00 - $103,126.00 per year
