Salary Range: $97,052 – $145,000 (based on years of experience)
Incentive Bonus: 17.5%

The Director of Surgical Services provides strategic and operational leadership for all surgical and perioperative departments. This leader is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of daily operations, staffing, fiscal management, and long-term strategic planning.
The Director reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and oversees approximately 50–60 FTEs. This role currently does not have a Surgical Services Manager, requiring a hands-on, visible leader with strong operational expertise.
Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and surgical outcomes.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and legal standards.
Standardize clinical practice to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Oversee equipment maintenance and adherence to surgical best practices.
Promote interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
Drive initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and surgical experience.
Utilize performance feedback to improve service excellence.
Lead strategies focused on delivering exceptional, compassionate care.
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and teamwork.
Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing surgical staff.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance management.
Ensure staffing models align with surgical volume and acuity.
Collaborate with physicians and executive leadership to expand surgical service lines.
Identify opportunities to grow robotics and specialty procedures.
Support long-term strategic planning and service differentiation initiatives.
Lead annual budgeting and financial forecasting for surgical services.
Monitor labor productivity, premium pay utilization, and supply costs.
Identify cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining quality standards.

~4,000 surgical cases annually

50–60 FTEs
Reports directly to COO
Bachelor’s Degree required
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
Master’s Degree preferred
Active RN License (Texas or Compact State)
Minimum 3+ years of applicable leadership experience in Surgical Services required
Prior Director or Surgical Services Manager experience strongly preferred
Ambulatory Surgery Center leadership experience will be considered
Demonstrated operational, financial, and quality improvement success
