A hospital in the Kansas City metro area is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Women’s Services to provide strategic and operational leadership across high-acuity women’s health departments.
This role reports directly to executive nursing leadership and carries 24-hour accountability for assigned service lines, including:
Labor & Delivery
Antepartum
Postpartum
Level III NICU
The ideal candidate will be a strong clinical and operational leader with recent leadership experience in a high-volume women’s services department performing approximately 3,500 births annually.
This regional medical center is a designated Trauma Center and offers comprehensive specialty services, including advanced maternal-fetal care, pediatric critical care, stroke services, cardiac care, and emergency services.
The hospital is part of a large, nationally recognized healthcare organization and serves a substantial patient population annually across the metropolitan region.
Provide 24-hour leadership oversight of Women’s Services
Direct assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care delivery
Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary departments to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
Oversee fiscal management, staffing models, budgeting, and resource allocation
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards
Promote a culture aligned with mission, quality, and patient safety initiatives
Drive patient satisfaction, clinical excellence, and operational performance metrics
Lead strategic planning initiatives for service line growth and performance improvement
Minimum 5 years of recent leadership experience (within the last year) as a Manager or Director in Women’s Services within a large hospital setting
Experience in a high-acuity facility with at least 3,500 births annually
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
Current RN license in state of practice (or active compact license)
BCLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and interpersonal expertise
Specialty certification in Women’s Services or related clinical area
