Director Procurement, Aftermarket

The Director Procurement, Aftermarket is a leadership role responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies for aftermarket categories. The Director will oversee all strategic sourcing, supplier management and cost management activities for aftermarket segment of the business. Additionally, this role will drive strong cross-functional collaboration that includes, sales, products, finance and operations.

All the important tasks we'll trust you with:
  • Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Develop and execute procurement strategies for aftermarket parts, managing inventory to balance cost, cash flow, and service levels.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage vendor relationships, monitoring performance and negotiating contracts to ensure high quality and favorable pricing.
  • Cost Management: Responsible for ensuring a competitive cost structure for all categories in the aftermarket segment. Develops deeper understanding of cost drivers and builds cost models that supports key initiatives to improve profitability of the categories
  • Global Supply Chain: provides expert advise on procurement markets, supplier strategies, opportunities and risks as it relates to fast changing political and economic environment globally.
  • Procurement Market: leads the development of alternative procurement markets for the aftermarket categories and evaluates cost competitive and reliable supply options.
  • Supplier Performance: constantly evaluates supplier performance in terms of cost competitiveness, on-time delivery, quality and compliance. Addresses supplier performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develops and implements risk mitigation plans to ensure commitments to customers are achieved in a timely manner. Leads supplier quality and compliance audits as needed.
  • New Supplier Development: leads the new supplier development activities for targeted product categories. Evaluates best region/countries in terms of supplier capability, cost, quality and performance.
  • New Product Development: Supports and leads new product development initiatives in terms of supplier and product qualification and achieving cost/pricing targets.
  • Financial Performance: Leads and supports profitability improvement initiatives by focus on total landed cost for targeted product categories.
  • Develops in-depth understanding of cost drivers specific to products and follows through successful cost reduction initiatives. Evaluates and implements working capital reduction opportunities through collaboration with suppliers.
  • Operational Performance: drives continuous improvement initiatives that supports operational performance improvement in terms of cost and customer order fulfillment.
Your areas of strength and expertise that matter most for this role:
  • University degree in business, engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of global sourcing experiences ideally for automotive aftermarket segments and or products and parts for automotive, industrial or retail segments.
  • Prior global procurement experiences in Asia and or Latin/South America will be a great asset.
  • Bilingualism, spoken and written, English and French;
  • Expert in drawing reading;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook;
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards software (an asset).
  • Has excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Has excellent negotiation skills;
