Director, Project Management

Meridian Cooperative is seeking a Director of Project Management to lead the successful delivery of strategic initiatives across the organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment—someone who can both drive execution and develop high-performing project management teams.

As a key leader, you will oversee project delivery, establish best practices, and ensure alignment with business objectives, while also serving as a working project manager on critical initiatives.

What You’ll Do

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects across the organization
Manage, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers, driving accountability and performance
Establish and scale PMO standards, tools, and governance frameworks
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Monitor portfolio performance through KPIs, reporting, and delivery metrics
Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across projects
Drive project intake, prioritization, and resource planning
Partner with business and technology leaders to align initiatives with company strategy
Oversee change management and governance processes
Manage external vendors, consultants, and third-party partners
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across project delivery practices
Provide regular updates and insights to executive leadership

What You’ll Bring

PMP® certification (required)
8+ years of project management experience, including managing multiple concurrent projects
Proven experience leading or mentoring project managers
Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
Experience building or supporting PMO functions and governance models
Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent)
Experience driving organizational change and transformation initiatives
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills

Paid Time Off: Eligible to begin accrual from date of hire; accrual amount based on years of service. Beginning accrual rate equivalent to 22 days per year. 9 holidays which include the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. Up to 240 hours of PTO can roll over to the following year.
Volunteer Time: 8 hours per year
Retirement: Robust 401K. Following one year of eligible service, the Company contributes in two ways: (1) match of 100% of each dollar you contribute on the first five percent (5%) of eligible compensation, and (2) Employer basic contribution of 4% of base salary (with increases in basic contribution percentage based on years of service). Employees are 100% vested in Company funded contributions from the date they enter the plan.
