Role Overview

The Project Director will lead the MTU Engines Department, overseeing the full lifecycle of engine-related projects across sectors such as marine, power generation, and industrial applications. This role entails strategic planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with Al Masaood's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans for the MTU Engines Department, aligning with the company's growth objectives and sustainability goals.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of MTU engine projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Team Coordination: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact for project-related communications and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, and external partners to ensure seamless project integration and execution.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all projects adhere to relevant regulations, codes, and standards, maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years in project management within the power generation or marine propulsion sectors, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of MTU engines and related systems, with a proven track record of managing complex engine projects.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is advantageous.

  • Leadership: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams toward achieving project goals.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with clients, stakeholders, and team members.

  • Adaptability: Flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements and environments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in project management software and tools, with a solid understanding of engineering principles related to power systems.
