SCP is on the lookout for an experienced Director of Public Relations & Marketing to play a key role in delivering on our Mission to turn the tide on the climate crisis, through bold ideas and practical programs. As the community-owned electricity provider for Sonoma and Mendocino counties, SCP is at the forefront of California's clean power transition, and we need an experienced, collaborative, and professional individual like you to join our team!

Summary Description
As our Director of Public Relations & Marketing, you will play a key leadership role in shaping SCP’s external communications, brand presence, and public engagement strategy. Working closely with senior leadership, this position sets strategic direction for marketing, advertising, media relations, social media, and community outreach. The Director also serves as SCP’s primary spokesperson, leading a team dedicated to strengthening SCP’s brand and deepening customer and community relationships.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in public engagement, strategic communications, team leadership, budget oversight, and navigating public and political environments. A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent coursework) in public relations, communication, journalism, or a related field is required. Experience working in a service industry with ten years of progressively responsible leadership in marketing, public relations, and community outreach—including seven years managing staff and outside contractors—is highly preferred.
Pay: $180,765.00 - $301,275.00 per year
