As Director of Sales, you’ll lead Acosta’s client-facing sales strategy, driving performance, innovation, and growth across national accounts. This is a high-impact leadership role where your ability to build relationships, inspire teams, and deliver results will shape the future of our sales organization.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the Sales Organization
Oversee the full sales process—from strategy to execution. Hire, develop, and manage a high-performing team of Business Managers and Senior Business Managers. - Drive Results
Ensure delivery of volume share and sales fundamentals (merchandising, assortment, pricing, shelving) at optimal cost for our principals. - Coach & Develop Talent
Monitor and elevate team performance through consultative selling techniques, regular feedback, and performance reviews. - Build Strategic Relationships
Cultivate strong partnerships with principals and customers to support program success and long-term growth. - Collaborate Across Functions
Work closely with Marketing, Technology, and Sales Support to align initiatives and deliver integrated solutions. - Shape Channel Strategy
Partner with the VP of Customer and New Business Development to define and execute channel and distribution strategies. - Expand Client Base
Maintain key accounts while developing strategies to grow and diversify our client portfolio. - Lead with Vision
Communicate company sales philosophy and direction clearly across all levels of the organization. - Adapt & Execute
Take ownership of evolving priorities and contribute to broader company initiatives as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
- Education
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. - Experience
10+ years in sales or marketing roles with increasing responsibility—preferably within a sales and marketing agency or a major national consumer packaged goods (CPG) company.
Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring sales teams. - Leadership & Team Building
Strong ability to motivate, coach, and build team spirit across diverse groups.
Experience administering performance reviews and setting success goals. - Sales & Strategic Skills
Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to drive effective strategies.
Deep understanding of financial principles and expense management. - Communication & Relationship Management
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—able to clearly convey company vision and sales direction.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and internal stakeholders. - Travel & Physical Requirements
Ability to travel as needed.
Must be able to listen actively and visually assess environments to support client needs.
