Director of Surgical Services Position Summary

The Director of Surgical Services is a Registered Nurse that has the authority, accountability, and responsibility for the administration and fiscal management of the Surgical Services Department. Responsibility for maintaining optimal standards of clinical practice and for ensuring that nursing practice is consistent with current care and regulation in the State of Maryland. A member of the Patient Care Leadership Team and participates in planning, policy development, and clinical priority setting for the hospital.

Director of Surgical Services Position Requirements

Education:

• Experiential and educational preparation should include organization and management theories, human resources management, strategies of nursing management, and foundational knowledge in health law, statistics and research.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
• MSN preferred or other related Master's Degree.

Licensure/Certification:

• Licensed and current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland or Delaware, as applicable.

Experience:

• At least five (5) years of nursing experience with at least three (3) years in a nursing management experience.

Director of Surgical Services Schedule

• Monday through Friday, Day shift
