Director, Talent and Leadership Development

Overview:

The Director of Talent and Leadership Development lead strategic initiatives to cultivate a high-performing, inclusive, and future-ready workforce. This role is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive programs that support employee growth, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness. The Director will oversee efforts to develop talent pipelines, enhance leadership capabilities at all levels, and foster a culture of continuous learning and engagement across the Joint Commission.

Responsibilities:
Talent Development
  • Oversees the creation and delivery of professional of professional learning experiences that enhance employee performance, engagement and career growth.
  • Aligning with HRBP’s and HR Leaders to ensure excellence in programming in support of all levels of employees.
  • Co-leads the onboarding/orientation program to foster stronger employee experience.
  • Develops and analyzes assessment reports to measure the impact of talent development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify learning needs and deliver responsive programming.
  • Evaluates talent development outcomes and continuously improves programming based on feedback and performance metrics.
Leadership Development
  • Designs and implements leadership development programs for emerging, mid-level, and executive leaders, aligned with Joint Commission’s institutional goals and leadership competencies.
  • Facilitates coaching, mentoring, and succession planning initiatives to build leadership capacity and readiness.
  • Partners with senior leaders to assess leadership gaps and create targeted development strategies.
  • As requested, leads the development of programming, retreats and executive learning experiences across Joint Commission.
  • Evaluates leadership development outcomes and continuously improves programming based on feedback and performance metrics.
Strategic Collaboration
  • Works cross-functionally with other directors and executive leaders to align development initiatives with strategic priorities.
  • Stays current on trends in adult learning, organizational development and leadership theory to inform innovative practices.
  • Represents Joint Commission, when needed, in external partnerships, conferences and presentations related to leadership and talent development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in Organizational and/or Talent Development, Human Resources, Leadership, Business or related field.
  • 7 plus years of progressive experience in employee engagement, talent and leadership development, and culture-building roles.
  • Experience with ERP platforms (Workday in particular) a plus.
  • Ability to create and implement initiatives in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally, visually and written
  • Ability to make presentations, pitches and data analysis to various groups
  • Ability to work collegially in a diverse, hybrid environment
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership and/or supervisory skills
