Disbursement Operations Director

We’re Poulin | Willey | Anastopoulo — a fast-growing trial law firm committed to delivering results for our clients. We’re looking for a strong, detail-driven attorney leader to oversee our post-settlement operations, ensuring that client funds are distributed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with all legal and financial standards.

This is a key leadership role that blends legal, financial, and operational oversight. You’ll manage the team responsible for lien resolution, verification, petition drafting, check processing, and payouts—making sure every client receives their settlement quickly and accurately. You’ll also work closely with attorneys, finance, and IT to improve systems, track KPIs, and drive efficiency across the process.

This role is a great fit if you like digging into details, keeping things accurate, and leading a team in a process-driven environment. What You’ll Do

• Lead and develop the team handling all client fund distributions.
• Oversee lien resolution, verification, petition drafting, check processing, and payouts.
• Review complex settlement files and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor KPIs such as accuracy, turnaround time, lien reductions, and audit results.
• Partner with attorneys, finance, and IT to improve workflows, reporting, and automation.
• Conduct audits and resolve escalations to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Note: This is an operational leadership role. No legal representation or other activities constituting the practice of law will be performed in this position.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) and an active law license (any state; SC preferred, can be inactive).
• 3–5+ years of experience in settlements, disbursements, or civil litigation.
• Proven leadership in a high-volume, compliance-driven environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes clearly.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and relentless about accuracy.
