Job Summary

At Miramont Country Club, the Kitchen Dishwasher plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization and sanitation of our kitchen. This position ensures a safe and efficient environment for food preparation and service by properly washing, sanitizing and storing all kitchen wares and equipment. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, maintains high standards and supports the overall success of the culinary team.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free kitchen in compliance with all health and safety standards.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and small wares using industrial dishwashing equipment and manual methods.
  • Properly sanitize and store all wares according to applicable codes and guidelines.
  • Polish silverware, platters, and chafing dishes to maintain presentation standards.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and surfaces, including shelves, cabinets, refrigerators, walk-ins, ice machines, coffee stations, and prep areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of receiving areas, trash zones, and utility rooms.
  • Collect, dispose of, and properly manage kitchen trash; clean and re-line garbage cans daily.
  • Break down boxes and remove debris; inspect trash for misplaced items such as silverware or dishes.
  • Ensure all cleaned items are safely and efficiently stored in designated areas.
  • Clean and sanitize dish machines and surrounding areas on a scheduled basis.
  • Safely store and properly use all cleaning tools and chemicals.
  • Assist with basic food prep and storage of delivered goods, including stocking coolers, freezers, and storerooms.
  • Transport supplies and equipment between storage and workstations as needed.
  • Handle all china, glassware, and kitchen tools carefully to minimize breakage.
  • Prioritize cleaning of service wares to support front-of-house operations.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen and prep area floors, ensuring they remain clean, dry, and free of hazards.
  • Participate in weekly deep-cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Follow all sanitation, food safety, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Promptly report accidents, injuries, illnesses, or near-miss incidents to a supervisor or manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support kitchen and Club operations.

Requirements

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic; self-motivated and reliable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage stress professionally.
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of dishwashing equipment and basic kitchen tools.
  • Ability to follow emergency procedures when required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing for long periods, lifting, and working in a kitchen environment.
  • Willingness to use required protective equipment (non-slip shoes, apron, hat, etc.).
  • Food safety certification preferred or required (per local regulations).

Licenses and Certifications

  • Food Safety Certification required (or ability to obtain per local regulations).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist and reach.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a busy, noisy environment with hot, cold, humid, or slippery conditions.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
