Dishwasher/Stocker

Overview
Washes dishes and restocks supplies. This role is essential for keeping the kitchen clean, sanitized, and well-stocked so that cooking and service can run smoothly. A Dishwasher/Stocker is responsible for cleaning dishes and maintaining kitchen organization, ensuring a steady supply of clean utensils and food items for service.

Responsibilities

  • Dishwashing: Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashers or by hand. Ensure that all items are properly cleaned and stored in designated areas.
  • Stocking Supplies: Assist in stocking kitchen supplies, including food items and utensils, in cupboards, refrigerators, and serving stations. Monitor inventory levels and report needs for replenishment.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Keep the kitchen area clean and organized by sweeping floors, taking out trash, and cleaning sinks and countertops. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Assisting Kitchen Staff: Support cooks and servers by ensuring that clean dishes and utensils are readily available during service hours. Help with food preparation tasks as needed.
  • Equipment Care: Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, reporting any mechanical issues to the kitchen manager. Ensure that all equipment is used safely and effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure thorough cleaning and organization of kitchen items to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively during busy service periods and find tasks during slower times.

Work Environment

Dishwashers/Stockers typically work in restaurant kitchens, cafeterias, or catering services. The role may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the establishment's hours of operation and events.

Pay: $9.00 - $12.00 per hour
