Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatch professional to coordinate transportation operations within our logistics team. The ideal candidate will manage freight movements, communicate effectively with drivers and clients, and utilize various transportation management systems to ensure timely and efficient delivery schedules. This role requires strong analysis skills, proficiency in data entry, and excellent communication abilities to support our supply chain operations and fleet management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400.
• Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations and optimize routes for efficiency.
• Communicate with drivers, clients, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Manage shipping & receiving documentation, ensuring accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
• Utilize transportation planning tools to develop effective dispatch plans that align with supply chain objectives.
• Oversee fleet management activities, including vehicle scheduling and maintenance coordination.
• Collaborate with 3PL providers and coordinate freight movements across different carriers.
• Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
• Maintain clear communication channels to ensure smooth operations across all departments involved in transportation management.

Requirements

• Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, or AS400.
• Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning principles.
• Familiarity with freight logistics, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices.
• Excellent analysis skills coupled with proficiency in data entry and typing accuracy.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes and logistics operations.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Previous experience in dispatching or related roles within transportation or logistics industries is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
