Shift Available: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Hiring Range: $25-$26/hr. (commensurate with experience)

What You'll Do
The Dispatch Coordinator supports daily dispatch operations within the Cartage department by coordinating loads, communicating with drivers and customers, and ensuring shipments move efficiently through the system. This role works closely with the Fleet Manager and Dispatch team to track deliveries, maintain accurate information in dispatch systems, and help resolve operational issues. The Dispatch Coordinator also serves as the primary operational backup when the Fleet Manager is unavailable, helping ensure continuity in dispatch operations.
What do you need to do this job?
Essential Job Functions
Assist with assigning drivers to trucks and available loads based on operational needs
Monitor driver ETAs, locations, and delivery progress; communicate updates or delays to internal teams and customers
Serve as a key point of contact for drivers by providing directions, load details, and shipment information
Manage daily order entry, tracking, and billing through the Transportation Management System (TMS) and related software
Communicate with shippers and consignees to confirm or adjust pickup and delivery appointments
Track active loads and provide drivers with information such as PO numbers, destination details, and shipment weights
Support operational communication between dispatch, customer service, and other internal teams
Assist with Driver Orientation at our Aurora facility
Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure equipment is scheduled for required service
Maintain accurate documentation and audit delivery receipts for completeness
Generate leads and build relationships with carrier partners when needed
Support the Fleet Manager and dispatch team by helping maintain consistent daily operations

Dispatch or transportation coordination experience in a trucking environment
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field
Note: Brokerage experience is not preferred for this role.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced operational environment
Strong communication skills when working with drivers, customers, and internal teams
Solid understanding of trucking and logistics operations
Strong organizational habits and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize multiple shipments, schedules, and requests simultaneously
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn dispatch software
Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate across departments
About the role
The salary grade for this position ranges from $22.31 to $30.36/hr. While offers will be based on experience and qualifications, the targeted pay range for this role is $25.00-$26.00/hr.
