Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the flow of freight and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This position requires strong communication skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and the ability to analyze data effectively. You will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, optimizing routes, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to monitor vehicle locations and optimize routing for efficiency.
• Manage transportation management systems to schedule shipments and track freight movements.
• Collaborate with supply chain partners to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Analyze logistics data to identify trends and improve dispatching processes.
• Handle dispatching duties, including assigning loads to drivers based on availability and capacity.
• Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving activities using Oracle Transportation Management and AS400 systems.
• Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear instructions are provided.
• Perform data entry tasks related to dispatch operations, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
• Support fleet management by monitoring vehicle performance and scheduling maintenance as needed.
• Foster positive relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in dispatching or logistics roles is preferred.
• Strong understanding of transportation planning, freight operations, and supply chain management.
• Proficiency in using transportation management software such as SyteLine or Oracle Transportation Management.
• Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data for decision-making purposes.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette.
• Ability to type efficiently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
