Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher in the equipment rental industry to coordinate transportation operations efficiently and effectively. In this vital role, you will serve as the communication hub for freight movement, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups while maintaining seamless coordination among drivers, carriers, and clients. Responsibilities

• Manage daily dispatching activities by assigning loads to drivers based on delivery schedules, driver availability, and route optimization using transportation management systems (TMS) and GPS technology.
• Monitor real-time vehicle locations through GPS tracking to ensure on-time deliveries and promptly address any delays or issues that arise during transit.
• Communicate clearly with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and customers via multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and resolve operational concerns swiftly.
• Utilize data entry skills to accurately record shipment details, update tracking information in systems such as Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) and SyteLine, and maintain detailed logs of dispatch activities.
• Collaborate with supply chain teams to plan transportation routes using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools and transportation planning techniques for optimal efficiency.
• Oversee shipping & receiving processes, including freight documentation, shipping schedules, and freight claims when necessary.
• Support fleet management by coordinating vehicle maintenance schedules and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Skills

• Strong analysis skills to interpret transportation data, optimize routes, and improve dispatch efficiency.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management (OTM), SyteLine, and AS400 platforms.
• Knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, logistics principles, and supply chain management practices.
• Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with drivers, clients, and team members.
• Ability to perform data entry accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with freight operations including shipping & receiving procedures and 3PL (third-party logistics) coordination.
• Experience in fleet management software and transportation planning tools to streamline dispatch processes. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to make a tangible impact within a vibrant logistics team!

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
