Dispatch Manager for Heating Oil Service and Delivery

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatch Manager to oversee the heating oil service and delivery operations. In this vital role, you will coordinate daily dispatch activities, optimize delivery routes, and ensure timely, efficient service for our customers. Your leadership will drive operational excellence by managing a team of drivers and or service mechanics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment dedicated to reliable petroleum deliveries and/or service to heating / hot water units.

Duties

• Coordinate and schedule heating oil deliveries using transportation management systems (TMS) and GPS technology to optimize routes for efficiency and safety.
• Manage dispatch operations by assigning deliveries, monitoring progress, and adjusting plans as needed to meet customer demands.
• Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and other analysis tools to plan routes, track vehicle locations, and improve overall logistics performance.
• Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems, providing clear instructions and support while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Monitor fleet management activities including vehicle maintenance schedules, driver logs, and compliance with transportation regulations.

Skills

• Excellent analysis skills to interpret logistics data and develop strategic solutions for routing and scheduling challenges.
• Proven experience in dispatching within the freight or heating oil industry with a solid understanding of shipping & receiving procedures.
• Effective communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for interacting with drivers, vendors, and internal teams..
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
