Dispatch Router-Trucking Company (TMS Experience Required

About the Role

Our trucking company is looking for an experienced Router / Dispatch Router who understands the fast-paced nature of the transportation industry. This person will play a key role in optimizing routes, supporting drivers, and helping implement and manage our Transportation Management System (TMS). Key Responsibilities

• Plan, optimize, and assign daily routes for drivers to ensure on‑time pickups and deliveries

• Monitor driver progress, provide real‑time support, and resolve issues as they arise

• Assist with the implementation, configuration, and ongoing use of our TMS system

• Maintain accurate load information, schedules, and documentation within the TMS

• Communicate clearly with drivers, customers, and internal teams

• Track performance metrics such as on‑time delivery, route efficiency, and fuel usage

• Identify opportunities to improve routing processes and reduce operational costs

• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies

Required Experience & Skills

• Previous experience in the trucking or transportation industry

• Hands‑on experience implementing or working extensively with a TMS system

• Strong understanding of routing, dispatching, and load planning

• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and make quick decisions

• Proficiency with logistics software, GPS systems, and basic computer tools

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ELD systems

• Knowledge of freight types, and carrier operations

• Ability to analyze data and improve routing efficiency

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
