Dispatcher

Overview

J.L. Shandy Transportation is a flatbed steel hauling trucking company servicing steel mills and steel processors throughout the Midwest. We are currently looking to add a dispatcher to our team. We are based out of St. John, IN, have been in business for 35 years and have an entirely owner-operator based fleet.

Responsibilities

• Book, coordinate and execute freight movements throughout the life cycle of the load.
• Assess and evaluate freight opportunities and provide quotes to customers as well as provide realistic deadlines and status updates.
• Communicate with our network of owner-operator drivers the freight that we have, the timing constraints and all relevant information to maximize their businesses.
• Enter data accurately and efficiently into our transportation management system, Toro TMS.

Skills

• Manage shipping & receiving schedules, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with logistics standards.
• Ability to manage phone calls, emails, and strategize freight in a fast paced and ever-changing environment with professional composure.
• Strong analysis skills for optimizing freight routes, fleet utilization, and supply chain processes.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
