Job Description:

As a dispatcher, you play a critical role in keeping our local, timecritical delivery operations running smoothly, especially during overnight and earlymorning hours. You are the primary point of contact for our drivers and are responsible for planning, scheduling, dispatching, and monitoring routes to ensure every delivery is executed safely and on schedule. You'll work closely with drivers, customers, and internal teams using modern, paperless dispatch technology, GPS tracking, and barcode asset tracking. Overnight dispatchers are responsible for ensuring routes launch on time, drivers are supported throughout the shift, and service commitments are met with minimal disruption. Successful dispatchers in this role are calm under pressure, proactive communicators, and driven by accountability rather than constant firefighting.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Support a safetyfirst culture, reinforcing proper procedures and decisionmaking
• Plan, schedule, and dispatch local, timecritical pickup and delivery routes
• Support overnight and earlymorning delivery routes
• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and document overnight issues, delays, or exceptions to ensure a smooth handoff to the daytime dispatcher
• Ensure all scheduled routes have complete driver coverage
• Serve as the main point of contact for drivers via dispatch system, phone, text, and email
• Provide consistent, professional support to drivers throughout their routes
• Proactively monitor route progress using GPS and dispatch software
• Communicate delays, disruptions, or changes to drivers and customers promptly
• Manage driver expectations while aligning with operational and customer requirements
• Monitor driver performance, safety compliance, and hours
• Build strong working relationships with drivers, customers, vendors, and internal teams
• Collaborate with customer service and sales to resolve issues and provide solutions
• Utilize and maintain accurate records in the Transportation Management System (TMS)
• Follow and enforce all company and client policies and procedures
• Maintain a professional, calm presence during highpressure situations

Work Schedule

• Officebased role supporting overnight and earlymorning delivery operations
• Start time 2:00 a.m.
• Arizona operations - no longhaul or nationwide dispatching

TrainingSupport

• Structured onboarding and operational training

Qualifications:

• Minimum two (2) years of dispatcher experience in routed, scheduled, or lastmile delivery environments
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong organizational and problemsolving skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fastpaced environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable using dispatch software, TMS platforms, and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.)

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions quickly

Work Environment:

This role is based in a fastpaced office environment utilizing modern dispatch tools, and GPS tracking. Dispatchers work closely with drivers, customers, and internal teams. While primarily officebased, occasional visits to the yard or warehouse may occur. The pace is steady, safety is a priority, accountability is high, and teamwork matters.
