Job Description:Job summary
The Dispatcher is responsible for the effective use of the GPS system – monitoring routes, ensuring vehicles are tracking, reporting issues to manager.
Role and Responsibilities- GPS Tracking
- Assign buses to routes according to daily schedule
- Monitor for issues – buses not tracking, route deviations, excessive idle time; report issues to manager
- Dispatch vehicles to cover for accidents, breakdowns, BRS, customer request
- Ensure all routes are covered for the day
- Monitor conditions on campus that may require rerouting, notify appropriate parties
- Drug Testing
- Reasonable Suspicion Training
- Maintain client relationship
- Lost and Found
- Employer Relations
- Keep manager apprised of customer service issues – complaints, breakdowns, accidents
- Keep manager apprised of customer successes – compliments, thanks, personnel who have gone above and beyond
- Keep manager apprised of issues that affect service – staffing, driver call-outs, vehicle issues, weather
- Respond to emails, calls and text messages in a timely manner
Job Requirements:Qualifications and Education Requirements- Working knowledge of GPS technology
- Ability to troubleshoot GPS issues
- Previous dispatch experience
- Software experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook and other Internet applications
- Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
- Complete pre-employment background check
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
