In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, managing fleet operations, and ensuring timely delivery of freight. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and the ability to analyze data effectively.

Duties

• Manage dispatching operations for freight transportation, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
• Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to optimize routing and monitor vehicle locations.
• Coordinate with drivers to provide clear instructions and updates regarding their routes.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, including shipping and receiving documentation.
• Input data into transportation management systems such as NetSuite.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and drivers to resolve any issues that arise during transit.
• Analyze transportation data to identify trends and improve efficiency in logistics operations.
• Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing excellent phone etiquette in all communications.
• Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure alignment between dispatching activities and overall logistics strategies.

Experience

• Proven experience in dispatching or a related field within the transportation industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems including NetSuite.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data related to logistics and fleet management.
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes, freight handling, and transportation planning is essential.
• Excellent typing skills for accurate data entry and record keeping.
