• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Prior experience in transportation is preferred.

Founded 39 years ago, Pro Transport is a national frozen, refrigerated, and dry van truckload transportation provider based in North Dakota with a terminal location in North Carolina. Pro Transport is currently operating 185 tractors with 300 trailers, servicing a wide range of customers throughout the U.S.

FUNCTIONS

We are looking for a detail-oriented truck dispatcher to organize and coordinate truck drivers and loads with our customers in a safe and effective manner. You will also need to communicate with current customers as well as potential new customers to learn of their requirements for planning loads and organizing truck drivers to collect and deliver freight.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (will train accordingly)

• Communicating with truck drivers to schedule freight pickup or delivery times and any special load instructions.
• Ensure compliance with hours of service and other FMCSA regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
• Communicating with customers about freight details, pickup or delivery times, and any special load instructions.
• Communicating with customers about any issues with freight in transit including breakdowns and delays.
• Schedule pickup and delivery times with customers and consignees.
• Enter accurate and complete load information into computer system.
• Enter driver daily check calls including location and hours worked.
• Answer phone calls and direct accordingly.
• Rotating afterhours and weekend on call duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

4. Ability to multi-task and perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment.

5. Willing to take initiative and work independently when needed but also be able to work in a team atmosphere.

6. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

7. Posses high ethical standards.

9. Background checks and drug/alcohol screenings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
