Duties

• Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery times.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and Transportation Management platforms to track shipments, update statuses, and manage shipping & receiving documentation.
• Oversee fleet management activities including dispatching trucks, tracking freight movement, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with 3PL providers to coordinate third-party logistics services and streamline supply chain processes.
• Conduct analysis of transportation data to identify efficiencies, resolve issues promptly, and support transportation planning initiatives.

Experience

• Proven experience in dispatching within logistics or transportation management environments.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of supply chain operations, freight movement, shipping & receiving procedures.
• Knowledge of GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and fleet management software.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally.
• Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating transportation data and optimizing routes.
• Proficiency in data entry tasks using systems like AS400 or SyteLine; typing speed is advantageous.
• Prior experience working with 3PL providers or in logistics coordination roles is preferred. This role offers an engaging environment where your organizational skills and technical expertise will directly impact operational success!
