Dispatcher (Afternoons)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented 2nd shift Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the movement of freight and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining effective communication with drivers and clients. This role requires strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

The hours are from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM (or till all paperwork is completed)

Responsibilities

• Communicate with drivers via phone systems to provide instructions, updates, and support throughout their routes.
• Coordinate logistics for shipping and receiving, ensuring all freight is processed accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor fleet management activities to optimize routes and improve delivery times.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking information and delivery confirmations.
• Address any issues or delays in transit promptly, providing solutions to maintain service quality.
• Coordinate the pickup of all inbound freight

Requirements

• Proven experience in dispatching or logistics management is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with drivers and clients.
• Ability to type quickly and accurately while managing multiple phone lines.
• Knowledge of freight operations, shipping procedures, and fleet management practices.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
• Must have strong knowledge of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding areas.
• Must be able to manually route orders by zip code using delivery tickets to create driver routes.
• Must have knowledge to create a route for a Sprinter Van, Cube Van, Non-CDL Straight Truck, CDL Straight Truck, Single and Tandem Axle trucks.

Pay: $22.00 per hour
