Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative

Position Summary

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily service operations for roll-off dumpsters, ensuring efficient routing, timely service execution, and accurate order processing. This role serves as the communication hub between customers, drivers, and internal teams, balancing operational efficiency with high-quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Dispatch & Operations

  • Schedule and dispatch roll-off drivers for deliveries and disposals
  • Optimize daily routes to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
  • Monitor driver progress throughout the day and adjust schedules as needed
  • Communicate service updates, delays, or changes to drivers and customers
  • Ensure all jobs are completed accurately and on time

Order Management

  • Enter customer orders into the system with a high degree of accuracy
  • Verify service details including size, placement instructions, and timing
  • Coordinate special requests (urgent jobs, restricted access sites, etc.)
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all service orders

Invoicing & Documentation

  • Generate and process customer invoices for completed services
  • Verify pricing, fees, and service details prior to billing
  • Resolve discrepancies between dispatched work and billed services
  • Assist end-of-day reporting

Customer Service

  • Answer inbound calls and emails from customers
  • Provide quotes, service availability, and product recommendations
  • Resolve customer issues, complaints, and service concerns professionally
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and recurring customers

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in dispatching, logistics, or customer service (waste industry experience preferred)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills (phone, email, and internal coordination)
  • Proficiency in dispatching or service software (experience with systems like ServiceCore is a plus)
  • Basic understanding of invoicing and billing processes
  • Ability to problem-solve and make real-time decisions under pressure

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
