Dispatcher and Customer Service Representative

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher and Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this vital role, you will coordinate transportation activities, manage freight logistics, and deliver exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and dispatch freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Ontime 360 and Customer based web portals.
  • Utilize GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal departments via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
  • Enter data accurately into systems to ensure real-time updates on shipments, deliveries, and inventory status.
  • Monitor shipping & receiving activities, ensuring compliance with logistics protocols and supply chain standards.
  • Manage fleet operations by scheduling vehicle maintenance, tracking fleet management data, and coordinating with third-party logistics providers (3PL).
  • Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for cost savings, route improvements, or service enhancements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with GPS, GIS technology, supply chain processes, and transportation planning principles.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multiple calls efficiently while demonstrating professional phone etiquette.
  • Proficient in data entry with high accuracy using systems like AS400 and SyteLine.
  • Ability to analyze logistical data to support decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Knowledge of freight operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices.
  • Experience working with 3PL providers and understanding of shipping & receiving protocols is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
