JBF Express is a growing asset-based transportation and logistics company specializing in cross-border freight between the United States and Canada. We are seeking a highly organized, proactive Dispatcher to route drivers, coordinate shipments, and manage cross-border documentation to ensure smooth, compliant operations.
This is a key operations role with visibility across dispatch, customer service, and customs coordination.
Position Overview
The Dispatcher is responsible for:
Routing and scheduling company drivers for efficient pickups and deliveries- Coordinating cross-border shipments (U.S. Canada)
Communicating with drivers, warehouse, customers, and customs brokers
Monitoring load status and proactively resolving service issues
This position requires strong attention to detail, urgency, and the ability to make sound operational decisions under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and dispatch daily routes for company drivers- Optimize equipment utilization and driver productivity
Prepare BOLs, commercial invoices, PARS/PAPS documentation
Ensure all customs documentation is complete and compliant
Track shipments and provide real-time updates to customers
Coordinate with warehouse team on consolidation and freight staging
Troubleshoot delays at the border or delivery locations
Maintain accurate shipment records in TMS
Qualifications
2+ years of dispatch or transportation coordination experience preferred (not needed)- Experience with cross-border freight (U.S./Canada) strongly preferred
Working knowledge of customs documentation and border procedures
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Experience with TMS systems (Rose Rocket or similar a plus)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
