Dispatcher (Full-Time)

Position Overview

Sterling Elite Transportation is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our in-office team in Union, Maine.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)

This role is responsible for coordinating daily transportation operations for both medical transportation and private car services. The Dispatcher serves as the central point of communication between clients, drivers, and management to ensure efficient, timely, and professional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch drivers for medical and private transportation services
• Coordinate trip details including pickup/drop-off times, locations, and special requirements
• Monitor driver routes and adjust schedules as needed to maintain on-time performance
• Communicate with clients regarding trip confirmations, updates, and changes
• Handle incoming calls, emails, and booking requests in a professional manner
• Maintain accurate records of trips, driver logs, and customer information
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and medical transport regulations
• Assist with resolving service issues or delays promptly and professionally
• Support billing and documentation processes as needed
• Participate in one on-call weekend per month, with the possibility of handling responsibilities remotely.

Qualifications

• Previous dispatching, logistics, or customer service experience preferred
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication skills (phone, email, and in-person)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
• Proficient with computers and scheduling software
• High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

Preferred Experience

• Experience in medical transportation or transportation/logistics industry
• Familiarity with routing and scheduling systems
• Knowledge of Maine geography and regional travel routes

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting wage of $18.00/hour for entry-level candidates.
