Dispatcher - In Person

Department: Operations

Position Status: Full Time

Reports to: Operations Manager

Work Schedule: M-F, on call – evenings - weekends

Position Summary

This position is responsible for managing and directing a fleet of fuel and propane delivery trucks, ensuring that assigned fueling sites within a geographical area are kept supplied with the required fuel and propane levels. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Essential duties:

  • Determine routes for drivers and manage all routing modifications. Plans, distributes, monitors, and follows-up daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards.
  • Dispatching drivers in compliance with company policies, procedures and in adherence to federal and state labor laws.
  • Must be able to work under limited to no supervision and be able to operate independently without direction as needed.
  • Must be able to creatively ensure that all sites are fueled appropriately in a timely manner and drivers are communicated with through all obstacles faced daily.
  • Must be able to work and communicate calmly and methodically under pressure.
  • Must posses excellent organizational skills and be flexible to constant change in priority dispatching.
  • Must be able to demonstrate professional phone etiquette.
  • Maintain a stable and positive relationship with drivers and customers.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Works closely with the Operations Team to provide the drivers and customers with the support needed to accomplish the daily workload.

Physical demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, talk or hear. Frequently required to sit, sometime stand, walk, bend, lift arms above head or other general physical movements in an office environment.
  • Must be able to examine documents, reports and other data in either hard copy or electronic form.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
