Dispatcher - Plumbing

Position Overview: As a Dispatcher at ACP, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient operations and exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for managing service calls, scheduling appointments, and coordinating the dispatch of plumbing technicians to job sites. Your primary goal is to optimize routing and response times, while maintaining effective communication with both customers and field personnel.

Key Responsibilities

· Coordinate same-day and future appointments, including first-time service visits

· Dispatch technicians strategically to maximize efficiency, minimize downtime, and meet service windows

· Review the daily dispatch board each morning to assess workload and plan accordingly

· Monitor technician progress throughout the day and adjust schedules in real time as needed

· Manage and prioritize emergency and on-call service requests, including overnight and weekend calls

· Ensure all emergency/on-call requests are scheduled promptly at the start of each workday

· Maintain consistent communication with technicians, customers, and internal staff

· Close out completed jobs and ensure proper tagging for accurate and timely invoicing

· Verify all technician documentation is complete (photos, notes, labor, materials, estimates)

· Ensure technicians are properly time-stamped and job statuses are updated accurately

· Confirm next-day appointments with customers and update job statuses to “confirmed”

· Proactively maintain a full schedule by filling gaps and optimizing routing

· Track pending jobs, callbacks, and return visits to ensure completion

· Ensure on-call coverage is scheduled and communicated daily

Qualifications

· Previous experience in dispatching, scheduling, or a similar coordination role (preferred, especially in plumbing, HVAC, or service industries)

· Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Proficiency in computer systems, including scheduling/dispatch software and Microsoft Office (or similar platforms)

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation

· Customer service-oriented mindset with a professional and positive attitude

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

· High school diploma or equivalent required; additional administrative or technical training is a plus

· Availability to work assigned shifts and occasional overtime as needed

Performance Expectations

· Reliability & Attendance: This role is essential to daily operations. Consistent, dependable attendance is required

· Operational Awareness: Quickly assess job progress, technician availability, and scheduling priorities throughout the day

· Time Management Expertise: Develop a strong understanding of common job durations (e.g., water heater installations, pressure regulator replacements, drain services) to improve scheduling accuracy

· Decisiveness & Leadership: Confidently direct technicians and make real-time scheduling decisions to maintain workflow and productivity

Compensation and Benefits

· Hourly Pay: $23.00 – $26.50, depending on experience and qualifications

• Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug test prior to employment.
