Dispatcher/ Ready Mix Batcher

Central Valley Concrete Ready Mix Dispatcher manages the timely and efficient delivery of concrete by coordinating driver schedules, monitoring truck locations, and communicating with customers, plant personnel, and drivers to resolve issues and ensure project deadlines are met. Key responsibilities include scheduling deliveries, generating delivery tickets, maintaining contact with drivers, and providing excellent customer service. The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, often high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scheduling and Dispatching:

Coordinate and assign drivers for scheduled concrete deliveries, taking into account factors like truck capacity, delivery distance, and customer needs.

• Customer Communication:

Serve as a liaison between customers, sales, and terminal management, resolving concerns and providing timely updates on deliveries.

• Logistics and Routing:

Monitor truck locations and GPS systems to ensure efficient routes and timely deliveries, adjusting plans as needed due to changing conditions or last-minute orders. Knowledge of local area preferred.

• Order Management:

Receive customer orders, enter them into dispatch systems, and prepare necessary paperwork, including delivery tickets and invoices.

• Team Collaboration:

Work closely with plant production staff, drivers, customer service representatives, and management to resolve problems and improve overall service.

• Reporting:

Generate reports on sales, such as cash and charge transactions, for shipments made by drivers.

• Compliance:

May be required to maintain D.O.T. driver logs and monitor equipment maintenance for compliance with regulations.

Required Skills & Qualities:

• Strong Communication:

Essential for effective collaboration with internal teams and external customers.

• Organizational Skills:

Needed to manage multiple deliveries, truck movements, and customer orders simultaneously.

• Problem-Solving:

Ability to address issues like delays, order changes, or customer complaints in a fast-paced environment.

• Customer Service:

Focus on meeting customer expectations and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.

• Technical Proficiency:

Familiarity with specialized dispatch software and GPS systems is beneficial.

• Computer Skills:

Familiarity with Excel, Word as well having Basic Math skills.

• Equipment Operator:

Willing to learn operating Heavy Machinery (Loaders when necessary).

• Office Setting:

The role is typically performed in an office and outside environment at a concrete plant or headquarters.

• Fast-Paced:

The job involves constant communication and adjustments, creating a dynamic and high-pressure work setting.

• Flexibility:

Dispatchers may need to adjust their daily start and end times to meet customer needs, which can include working Saturdays or other required hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
