Dispatcher/Answering Service Operator- Night Shift

IMPORTANT:
This position requires in-office training at our South Beach, Oregon office. After successful completion of training, remote work may be available for qualified employees. Applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of South Beach/Newport, OR for training and occasional in-office needs.

We are currently hiring specifically for a night shift position, and applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.

TCB’s Communications Division operates 24/7, providing answering service and dispatch support for over 100 businesses nationwide. We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently multitask while providing excellent customer service.

This role is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, organized, tech-savvy, and able to communicate professionally with callers during both routine and emergency situations.

Job Summary

Responsible for answering incoming calls, gathering and relaying information accurately, dispatching calls as needed, and ensuring clients and callers receive prompt, professional assistance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls for a variety of businesses and organizations
  • Greet callers professionally and determine the reason for the call
  • Take, document, and deliver detailed messages accurately
  • Transfer calls or contact on-call personnel when necessary
  • Dispatch Security Officers and other on-call responders
  • Page individuals and relay urgent information
  • Schedule or cancel appointments
  • Assist callers with questions and provide appropriate resources
  • Refer callers to emergency services when necessary
  • Accurately document calls in computer systems
  • Operate communication systems including radios and intercoms
  • Perform basic clerical and administrative duties
  • Maintain professionalism and accuracy in high-volume situations

Qualifications

  • Strong typing and computer skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Ability to multitask efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Prior dispatch, call center, or customer service experience preferred

Schedule

  • Full-time, 42 hours per week
  • Three 12-hour shifts and one 6-hour shift weekly
  • Evening shift
  • Night shift
  • Overnight shift
  • Weekends and holidays as needed

Experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $21.00 per hour
