Dispatcher/Driver

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Dispatcher/Driver, where you will play a vital role in coordinating transportation operations and ensuring timely, accurate delivery of freight. This energetic position combines dispatching duties with driving responsibilities, offering a fast-paced environment that values proactive communication, logistical expertise, and a passion for efficient transportation management. You will be the central hub for scheduling, route planning, and maintaining seamless communication between drivers, clients, and warehouse teams to optimize supply chain flow.

Duties

• Coordinate daily dispatch operations using transportation management systems (TMS) and GPS technology to assign routes and monitor vehicle locations in real-time.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers via multi-line phone systems, providing route updates, delivery instructions, and support as needed.
• Enter data accurately into systems to track shipments, freight details, and delivery status.
• Plan transportation routes utilizing GPS tools, and Roadnet transportation planning software to maximize efficiency and reduce transit times.
• Oversee shipping & receiving processes, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols while managing freight movement within the supply chain.
• Maintain fleet management records including vehicle maintenance schedules, driver logs, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to coordinate freight movement and optimize logistics solutions for diverse shipping needs.

Skills

• Strong understanding of transportation management systems
• Extensive knowledge of SF Bay Area traffic and roads and transportation planning software to enhance route efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills with phone etiquette expertise to liaise effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
• Analysis skills to interpret data related to freight movements, delivery performance, and supply chain metrics.
• Ability to perform data entry accurately under tight deadlines while managing multi-line phone systems efficiently.
• Knowledge of freight logistics, shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL coordination.
• Familiarity with transportation planning concepts within the broader scope of supply chain management to optimize overall logistics operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals eager to make an impact in transportation logistics!
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish language a plus
• Previous driving experience for retail delivery required

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
