Join our dynamic logistics team with a role as a 2nd Shift Dispatcher, Load Planner, and Warehouse Team member. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries, optimizing routes and loads.
- Dispatch drivers efficiently by leveraging GPS technology, GIS data, and real-time tracking tools to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate data entry for shipments, freight details, and delivery statuses.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, carriers, warehouse personnel, and customers via phone etiquette and professional communication skills to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee shipping & receiving processes, including freight documentation and warehouse operations.
- Manage fleet operations by tracking vehicle maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting fleet management initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in supply chain processes while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
Experience
- Experience in dispatching or load planning within a logistics or transportation environment.
- Knowledge of GPS tracking, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning software to enhance route optimization.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally while maintaining clarity under pressure.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating freight data, shipping schedules, and workflow to improve operational efficiency.
- Experience working with freight carriers, warehouse teams, and third-party logistics providers (3PL).
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures along with basic fleet management practices is preferred.
