Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator

Overview.

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Dispatcher/Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing schedules, coordinating logistics, and ensuring smooth communication between team members and clients. Your ability to multitask, solve problems, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment will be key to your success.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments efficiently

- Dispatch drivers at a busy port truck terminal

- Utilize company transportation management system to document all truck movements

- Ensure accurate pay for drivers and billing to customers

- Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure timely deliveries

- Use GPS and GIS tools to track vehicles and monitor delivery progress

- Provide excellent phone etiquette when interacting with drivers and customers

- Assist in transportation planning to meet delivery deadlines

- Coordinate dispatching activities to ensure smooth operations

- Provide exceptional phone etiquette when interacting with internal and external stakeholders

- Assist other team members to ensure the overall success of the operation

Qualifications
· Prior experience in dispatching, preferably in a 3PL environment

· Proficiency in utilizing transportation management systems

· Strong analytical skills to assess data and make informed decisions

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure

· Experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS)
