Dispensing Pharmacy Technician

Location: Eden Prairie, MN

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Setting: Closed-Door Long-Term Care Pharmacy

Schedule : Rotating 8-hour shifts between 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM

Every third weekend: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Rotating open and close shifts (open as early as 7:00 AM, close as late as 11:00 PM)

Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Dispensing Pharmacy Technicians to join a fast-paced, closed-door long-term care pharmacy team. In this role, you will support pharmacists with daily dispensing operations while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality service. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced technicians and motivated new graduates looking to grow in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately fill daily prescription orders, including:
• Punch cards
• Bulk medications
• OTC medications
• Compounding
• Cassettes and prepacks
• Stock and restock medication inventory as needed.
• Print and prepare daily orders, labels, and delivery documentation.
• Process daily medication "shorts" and manage punch card buckets.
• Reorder bulk medications and maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Create, maintain, and update the punch-card calendar and calendar board.
• Receive incoming medication shipments and complete all required paperwork accurately and timely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pharmacy workspace.
• Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and pharmacy team members to ensure smooth workflow.
  

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacy Technician License in Minnesota (Required)
• Experience in a long-term care or closed-door pharmacy is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• IV experience preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
• Familiarity with pharmacy software and inventory management systems
