Distribution Center Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Distribution Center Manager to lead our warehouse operations with energy and precision. Responsibilities

• Lead the overall operations of the distribution center, including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, inventory management, and warehouse distribution activities.
• Develop and implement process improvement strategies utilizing Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Manage transportation planning and logistics coordination, including freight management, fleet oversight, 3PL partnerships, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations, and dispatching.
• Oversee procurement activities such as purchasing, vendor negotiations, and inventory control to ensure optimal stock levels and supply chain flow.
• Utilize ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning) like AS400 or similar platforms to analyze supply chain data, manage warehouse management systems (WMS), and support supply chain analytics initiatives.
• Supervise warehouse staff including warehouse supervisors, forklift operators, and logistics personnel; foster a safety-first culture while maintaining high productivity standards.
• Monitor budget adherence through profit & loss analysis; identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings across all operational areas.
• Coordinate demand planning and production scheduling to align inventory levels with forecasted sales and operational needs.
• Ensure compliance with transportation management systems (TMS), shipping & receiving protocols, and safety regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean methodologies to streamline workflows and enhance overall supply chain performance.

Experience

• Proven experience in operations management within a warehouse or distribution center environment with supervising experience in logistics or supply chain functions.
• Strong background in inventory management, warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and ERP platforms such as AS400 or equivalent.
• Demonstrated success in process improvement projects utilizing lean principles or other continuous improvement tools.
• Extensive knowledge of freight operations including 3PL partnerships, NVOCC procedures, fleet management, procurement, purchasing, and dispatching.
• Experience managing budgets with profit & loss accountability; ability to analyze financial data for strategic decision-making.
• Familiarity with demand planning, production planning, materials management, and supply chain analytics tools is highly desirable.

Pay: $70,304.00 per year
