JOB DESCRIPTION – DISTRICT SALES REPRESENTATIVE (DSR)

Position Title: District Sales Representative (DSR)
Department: Sales & Marketing
Location: Kalaburgi
Reporting To: Area Sales Manager / Regional Sales Manager

1. Job Purpose

The District Sales Representative is responsible for achieving sales targets, developing strong customer relationships, expanding market reach, and ensuring effective product promotion within the assigned district. The DSR plays a key role in driving revenue growth and improving brand visibility.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Sales & Target Achievement

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned district.
  • Identify new business opportunities and generate leads.
  • Increase product penetration in existing and new markets.

B. Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relations with distributors, retailers, and key business partners.
  • Address customer queries, complaints, and provide timely solutions.
  • Conduct regular market visits to understand customer needs and competitor activities.

C. Market Expansion & Promotions

  • Implement sales promotional activities as per company guidelines.
  • Ensure proper display and visibility of products at retail counters.
  • Support marketing campaigns and coordinate ground-level activities.

D. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of customers, orders, and collections.
  • Report competitor activities, price trends, and market feedback to management.

E. Collections & Payments

  • Ensure timely collection of outstanding payments from customers.
  • Follow company policies for credit limits and payment terms.

3. Skills & Competencies Required

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain business relationships.
  • Target-oriented with a proactive sales approach.
  • Good market knowledge and problem-solving ability.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Email, Reporting Apps).

4. Qualifications

  • Minimum: Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree (preferred in Commerce / Marketing).
  • Minimum 1–3 years of field sales experience; Steel, Cement, Paint and Telecom.

5. Working Conditions

  • Extensive field work within the assigned district.
  • Travel as required for market visits, dealer meetings, and promotions.
  • Must possess a valid two-wheeler and driving licence (if applicable).

6. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of sales targets and market coverage.
  • Customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Timely reporting and documentation.
  • Growth of distributor/retailer network.

On-time payment collections

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
