$50-$60/hour | Teaching Role
We are a national DJ education program operating in 9 cities, including Austin, and are looking for a part-time DJ Instructor to teach beginner and intermediate students in a structured, in-person learning environment.
This is a teaching-focused role, not a performance or nightlife position. We provide the curriculum and students — instructors bring their expertise, professionalism, and equipment.
What You’ll Do
- Teach 1-on-1 and small-group DJ lessons
- Instruct students on DJ fundamentals (beatmatching, phrasing, EQ, transitions, library prep, etc.)
- Follow a structured curriculum while adapting to student learning styles
- Create a supportive, beginner-friendly learning environment
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and clear communication
Requirements (Read Carefully)
- Intermediate or higher DJ skill level
- Must own Pioneer DJ equipment (controller or standalone) with a minimum value of $700
- Comfortable using rekordbox
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working with beginners
- Currently enrolled in or graduated from a college/university (or equivalent verifiable background)
- Able to pass a basic identity and background verification
Preferred (Not Required)
- Prior teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring experience
- Experience DJing events, clubs, or private functions
- Experience explaining technical concepts clearly to beginners
Compensation & Schedule
- $50 per hour for first 6 months, then $60 per hour
- Up to 10 hours per week; expect an average of 7 hours.
- Fixed hours: 6:45pm to 9:15pm on Thursdays, 12:45pm to 7:15pm on Saturdays. (All courses occur within these hours, however you are not expected to show up when you do not have a class scheduled).
- Consistent students provided — no marketing required.
Equipment Requirement
Instructors must provide their own Pioneer DJ equipment for teaching. This role does not provide gear.
