DM Approved Steel Design Engineer

Job Summary:

The DM Approved Steel Design Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and approval of structural steel works in compliance with Dubai Municipality regulations. The role ensures all structural designs are accurate, safe, and approved by relevant authorities before execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare structural design calculations for steel structures (beams, columns, trusses, platforms, etc.)

Develop detailed design drawings and shop drawings using AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar software

Submit and obtain approvals from Dubai Municipality

Ensure all designs comply with DM regulations, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, and international standards (AISC, BS, Eurocode)

Review and verify fabrication drawings prior to submission

Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and project teams

Address comments from Dubai Municipality and revise designs accordingly

Provide technical support during fabrication and site execution

Ensure implementation of approved drawings at site

Maintain proper records of design submissions and approvals

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Valid approval/registration with Dubai Municipality (mandatory)

7-10 years of experience in steel structure design (UAE experience preferred)

Strong knowledge of DM regulations and approval procedures

Proficiency in STAAD, ETABS, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Tekla

Skills & Competencies:

Strong structural analysis and design capability

In-depth knowledge of authority approval processes

Attention to detail and accuracy

Good communication and coordination skills

Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred Requirements:

Experience handling Dubai Municipality approvals independently

Knowledge of BIM and advanced modeling tools

UAE driving license (optional)

Working Conditions:

Site-based and authority visits

Regular coordination with Dubai Municipality, consultants, and contractors

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
